So I guess I’m not the only one feeling the current world situation with rising prices etc. I’m not critically suffering or anything, but I do have a house heated by natural gas. Which means that I haven’t really felt comfortable splurging on things I don’t necessarily need, such as the 167th-173rd copy of the same books.
BUT I found this amazing deal on local marketplace and I just had to get it. It’s a box set with all 7 American books in their original Mary Grandpré cover look! I paid 300 DKK (around 40 euro) and the books are unread. The reason the box was so cheap was that the seller had bought it for his son without noticing it was in English and not Danish. The son had written his name on the box before they realised their mistake.
Lucky for me, they used a marker and I was able to remove it with rubbing alcohol. The box isn’t in perfect mint condition, but for that price, I’m really happy. The American books I had before were very worn softcover editions that I’d found in a 2nd hand shop. Of course my cats did their usual thorough inspection, as they do with anything I bring home.
